Maui Weekend Events – October 3

Aloha friends! This weekend on Maui, all eyes are on the highly anticipated Maui County Fair. As the centerpiece of local festivities, the fair promises a vibrant celebration filled with entertainment, food, and community spirit. Whether you’re a longtime resident or visiting the Valley Isle, there’s no better way to experience Maui’s culture and traditions than at this beloved annual gathering.

In addition to the fair, there are exciting opportunities to enjoy top-tier cocktails, live music at Sunset Sundays, and thrilling high school football games, making this weekend packed with something for everyone to enjoy.

Maui County Fair

The Maui County Fair returns this weekend, celebrating its long-standing tradition as a beloved community event dating back to 1916. Taking place at the War Memorial Complex, the fair will be open from Friday through Sunday, with gates opening at 5 pm on Friday and at 10 am on both Saturday and Sunday. Attendees can look forward to live entertainment, local food booths offering Hawaiian favorites, thrill rides, and a variety of exhibits showcasing Maui’s agriculture and crafts. Ample parking is available at the War Memorial Stadium with additional overflow lots nearby, and shuttle service will be provided for convenience. The Maui County Fair has been a cornerstone of island life for over a century, bringing together residents and visitors to enjoy the spirit and culture of Maui in a festive atmosphere.

Pacific Cocktail Haven Residency

Kevin Diedrich, James Beard finalist and the creative force behind San Francisco’s Pacific Cocktail Haven, partners with Alaloa Lounge for a bar takeover this Friday and Saturday from 3 – 10 pm! PCH brings a unique experience to Maui, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy specialty drinks in an elegant, island-inspired setting. The event will feature specialty cocktails highlighting Diedrich’s signature style and technique. If you’re looking for an exceptional evening out, this residency promises a memorable taste of San Francisco’s cocktail culture right here in Kapalua.

Sunset Sundays

Mana’o Radio presents Sunset Sundays at Ocean Organic Farm and Distillery. This is a recurring event taking place every first Sunday of the month. Show from 4 – 7 pm. Featured artists this weekend are Red Dirt, Jeremy Savo, and Dallas Bolton. Tickets $10 and reservations are recommended.

MIL Football

We have two MIL football games this weekend. Friday night, KS Maui plays Maui High at KS Maui.  Saturday night, King K plays Lahainaluna at King K. Game start is 7:00 pm for both games.

This is the last week for 8-Man Football season. Molokai travels to Hana and Lanai to Seabury Hall for Saturday morning games. Game start is 10 am for both games.

Anything Else This Weekend or Next?

I am always looking to promote other weekend activities for Maui organizations. If we are missing anything, drop me a line any time for future happenings. Mahalo!!!

Real Estate

The uptick in pendings seems to be holding and latest numbers we are up to 12.8%.  As of September 24, we have 1559 active listings and 229 pending. Rates are improving and I am getting more inquiries so that is an optimistic sign.

Anticipated interest rate cuts would make mortgages more affordable, potentially boosting buyer demand and creating renewed momentum in Maui’s real estate market. Lower rates may also encourage sellers and investors to re-enter the market, with positive ripple effects across local businesses and the broader island economy.

The future of vacation rentals remains uncertain. Lenders, investors, property owners, sellers, buyers, as well as businesses such as restaurants, farmers, cleaning services, landscapers, and activity providers—all sectors across Maui—will be impacted.  I’ve persevered and navigated the local market, helping Buyers and Sellers alike. If you have questions, I am your real estate resource.

I have been busy working on a project that will be coming to market soon. 20 acres of ocean view organic farmland in Waiehu! I’m so excited to share Kuawa Olu with you all. Stay tuned!

Kula I’o 15 acres. 7+ acres buildable area offers lots of options.
