The last town along Kauai’s main highway, if you are headed west, is Kekaha. Driving along this rural stretch, one sees golden fields sprinkled with rolling hills that were one once part of sugar plantation land. Kekaha’s eastern neighbor Waimea Town is less than ten minutes away - so shopping, dining, and schools are easily accessible. Sometimes called the Grand Canyon of Hawaii, Waimea Canyon is almost in Kekaha’s backyard. The West side of Kauai is rich in hunting, fishing, and ranching culture, and is loved by locals for it natural, untouched quality.
