Haena, North Shore Kauai Real Estate

Related Search

This little town on the North shore of Kauai can be described as untouched. Set between towering mountains with cascading waterfalls and pristine coastline, it seems to be somehow detached from the lively community of Hanalei, a place all its own. Although it’s just a few miles from restaurants and shops, Haena is a quiet piece of paradise, accessed by one lane bridges and narrow winding roads.

The beaches of Haena are some of the islands finest. Tunnels beach is home to an offshore coral reef that divers and snorkelers love for its caverns and ledges inhabited by colorful fish. Haena Beach Park is a favorite family gathering spot for picnics and celebrations. Limahuli valley, one of the most biodiverse valleys in the Hawaiian Islands is home to the Limahuli garden and preserve. The preserve is a refuge to dozens of endangered plants and birds found nowhere else on earth.

Haena is where the road ends, literally. Where the road ends, the famous Na Pali coast begins. You can see glimpses of the peaks and switchbacks from Kee beach which is the northernmost beach accessible by car. Kee beach is also the trailhead for the Kalalau Valley trail, a challenging and beautiful 11 mile hike along the Na Pali coast to Kalalau Valley where hikers may camp with permits.
