Ahuimanu means “cluster of birds” in Hawaiian. This region of Kaneohe is stretched beneath the windward cliff face of the Koolau Mountain Range and is separated by a low ridge from Heeia Kea and the Pacific Ocean. This means most of the area is separated from Kaneohe Bay and Sand Bar, except for Ahuimanu’s northernmost neighborhoods near Kahaluu Pond.

A variety of homes are available in Ahuimanu, including townhomes, apartments, and single-family houses. They all share one thing in common however – a stunning backdrop of the Koolau Mountain Range.

Hokuloa townhome community at Ahuimanu’s southeastern end features renovated two-story townhomes with large lanais (porches), lush yards, a pool, clubhouse, recreational center, and many more amenities.

Most of Ahuimanu is comprised of large neighborhoods holding single-family and multigenerational homes of varying sizes. The main road through Ahuimanu is Kahekili Highway, which runs north to south. A shopping center and restaurants are located near the community’s southern end. There are numerous hiking trails and parks around the neighborhoods, and residents can quickly reach Kaneohe Bay and nearby beaches.
