There are many things to like about living in Hawaii, but here are three things that I absolutely love about it:
Gardening in Hawaii is something you can enjoy every day of the year. It is such a wonderful experience to be able to participate in creating great vegetables or gorgeous flowers. Take plumeria for example. You can simply break off a branch and put it into the ground. You don’t have to grow it from seed, you don’t have to develop the roots. It just takes hold and grows. The fragrance of the plumeria can be faint or strong, depending on the variety. This is my favorite, and it has the unmistakable scent that makes you say, “Ahhhh – I love Hawaii!”

When you live on an island, ocean sunsets are a daily event. Just about wherever you go on the island you will see people pull off to the side of the ride to get a photo, or just let it sink in. Find your inspiration, your motivation, relax or just simply enjoy the beauty. This is what living in Hawaii is all about!
3. Indoor Outdoor Lifestyle
Our weather gives us the ability to live inside and out all year long. I cherish enjoying an evening with friends on the lanai in December. Winters don’t have to get you down. I am not a fan of the regimen involved with simply going from one place to another – muddy, wet shoes, gloves, jacket on, jacket off – what a hassle! Take a look at this lanai and think about what your December can look like…

If you like these things too – I have a home listed on the north shore of Kauai that embraces Hawaii living.
