Loving Service Foundation Fund-Raiser – Support Our Hawaii Children
Tour and fund-raiser for the Loving Service Foundation on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.—1:00 p.m. (Lunch at Noon)
At this event, I will have the pleasure of introducing Dr. Reuben Lelah, Hawaii Licensed Clinical Psychologist and President of the Loving Service Foundation (http://lovingservicefoundation.org/). Dr. Lelah will offer a short presentation and tour of the foundation’s magical grounds and facilities.
Please invite those who you know would like to participate. Allow yourself to ask questions and be a part of a network that is expanding awareness of the critical needs of our special children and providing healing service in a holistic way.
The Loving Service Foundation (LSF) is a non-profit, charitable foundation (501c3) established on April 4, 2005 and is situated on 22.5 acres of forested land at the 5,400 foot elevation of Hualalai Mountain. LSF is a very peaceful and healing environment, and a MUST SEE to truly understand and appreciate the foundation’s mission.
Dr. Lelah has planted over 550 rose bushes that thrive on the winding pathways at the center, along with many other plants and trees, creating a veritable botanical garden. LSF has been set up in perpetuity. Sixteen years of clinical practice in Hawaii have proven that Dr. Lelah’s ideas and methods are effective and successful with even the most difficult challenges our youth face.
Over 8-years ago, using his private funds including retirement, refinancing, and earnings, Dr. Lelah constructed a beautiful clinic at LSF to serve our youth in Hawaii. Through the on-going use of his earnings, he continues to model his commitment and dedication to the children.
His mission is to provide psychological services addressing various physical, mental, and emotional challenges surrounding chronic and terminal illnesses and conditions including Aspergers Syndrome, Autism, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder using traditional and multi-disciplinary modalities.
LSF’s goal is to raise $2,000,000 by May 2012 to complete the current construction of the Music Therapy Building, Environmental Center, Activities Deck, and the required fire access road. This capital improvements fund raising program is the beginning of on-going efforts to expand, solidify, and safeguard the continued growth of the foundation.
I have been on the Big Island for 14 years and have never asked family, friends, colleagues, or clients for help, nor donations for any cause. Though I have participated in many fund-raisers, I have never personally raised money or awareness for a cause close to my heart. Today is the day!
I am asking for your support for this spectacular fund-raising project to help raise tax-deductible donations, so that Dr. Lelah can continue to provide this exemplary service for our children and teens.
Many of you already know my 10-year-old son, Eliott, was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome a couple of years ago. Through a challenging time, we were blessed to meet Dr. Lelah. Eliott truly enjoys his weekly therapy session with Dr. Lelah and has shown amazing behavioral progress. My husband and I are committed to a 2-hour drive every Friday to continue the treatments we believe are highly effective for Eliott’s well-being.
Without our son’s condition, our path would have never crossed Loving Service Foundation and the privilege of meeting Dr. Lelah. With our support, he can continue serving our children and teens with cutting edge technology and programs to better assist in their comprehensive care.
Please RSVP by Wednesday, October 5th and for further details, please contact Catherine Klug at (808)-987-4307, or via email Catherine@hawaiilife.com.
Thank you for making the time to consider this opportunity to help the children and teens of our community. On behalf of our Keiki, mahalo and warmest Aloha!
