Polo Season on Big Island, Hawaii

Aloha Dear Friends,

It’s that time of the year, and polo season is here on Big Island Hawaii. The games take place at the beautiful Waikii Ranch located along Mauna Kea mountain.

My dear friend Chris plays for the Mauna Kea Polo Team. Her two horses Lakota and Chief put on a powerful show.
I asked Chris what’s her favorite part about playing and she says, “it’s like going to battle and a game for warriors. If you have any stress, you get it all out in one seven minute chuckers.” Polo matches are divided into seven and one-half minute chuckers. There are six or more in one match. Polo is one of the oldest team sports on our planet and started with players knocking a goats head around.

With a $5 donation, children enjoy the games for free. I can’t see a more entertaining way to spend your Sunday. There is homemade BBQ available to purchase and always a pot of Kona coffee brewing. The season ends the second week of December.

Bring your family and friends to share a day filled with adrenaline. One of my favorite parts of the day is at the end of Chris’s game, I get to give Lakota and Chief a bath and watch them roll on the grass.

During half time, it is so much fun to stomp out divots. During polo play, patches of grass are torn up by the horses, creating divots that can be dangerous for the horses. Fans make an experience out of “stomping” the divots back in place, a great way to meet fellow spectators and strike a casual conversation on the field.

It is such a treat to be watching a game filled with action and then have this calming magical mist flow over the polo field, as the horses and players disappear in the distance.

I hope to see you half time on the field stomping out divots.

Ever Dreamed Of Living In An Equestrian Haven?

Then Waikii Ranch is for you. An exclusive gated community with a large clubhouse and of course, a stunning polo field and endless riding paths.

I love Wakiki Ranch. I lived here for 2 1/2 years when I was managing my friend’s masterpiece ranch that was built by Erin Keck, the heir of the world-renowned Keck Observatory founders. This 52 acres Cedar log mansion cost over $23 million to build and my friends are selling it for only $4.9 million, this ranch is a steal and waiting for the perfect king to take possession. For more information, check out my blog and or contact me.

With year-round sunsets views and the perfect weather, enjoy the coolness of Mauna Kea mountain breeze flowing through Wakii Ranch. This may be the perfect setting to call home. Waikii Ranch is, for sure, one of my favorite areas to live on Big Island.

Contact me today, and I will be happy to share with you some incredible listings located at Waikii Ranch.

I hope to see you at the games,

Hello.

I was wondering if you could tell me if there are any polo matches in March or April. My wife is very active in the sport here in Calgary, Alberta. My son has his school break in late March/April, so that is why I am asking.
