WAIT, Now How Do I Move to Maui?

Well now that you know you want to move to Maui you are probably wondering but how? I have pets, I have furniture, I have kids. Well, that’s why I am here!

Pets

It is true folks. There is no rabies in Hawaii. So why is this a problem? Well, your furry friends may have to go through a process of quarantine in order to assure that our island stays this way. Your best solution is direct release. My dear friend Tiffany Nunan can do this for you, check out Maui Animal Clinic for more info.

Furniture

The average cost of moving a 3-bedroom house to Hawaii is between $5,000-$10,000.

At hawaiilife.com we have a whole page dedicated to this. The good news is there are several cargo ship companies that can literally “ship” your entire home this way, but it’s good to do a price analysis because it might be time to start fresh. With awesome options like Amazon, Costco, and Pier One, and not to mention, islands like Bali not too far away, it might be time to treat yourself to new home décor.

More info on moving, check out our blog post: Moving to Hawaii – Planning the Move vs. Hiring a Moving Company.

Cars

I’ve been told it’s about a grand to ship a car from just about anywhere to Maui. A great service for this is Pasha Hawaii. I would highly recommend bringing your own vehicle here as there is low inventory on both new and used cars. However, if you are looking to pick up a cheap island cruiser Craigslist and Facebook are bustling with affordable options.

Schools

It is known that our public schools can be somewhat tricky. Below is a link to all of our public schools and a map of the area.

Public Schools

We do have several options, in terms of privates. Below is a list of the top private high schools on Maui and a link to the list of all the private schools on island.

  1. Seabury Hall, Makawao
