Aloha Dear Friends,
A chocolate a day keeps the doctor away. Many of you reading my blogs can see how much I enjoy sharing useful information on expanding our consciousness and wellness.
It is easy for me to write about how incredible the Hawaii real estate market is, and I can do my best to persuade you to buy a dream home on Big Island Hawaii. So I enjoy splashing a bit of both into my blogs.
I Have a Confession… I’m a Chocoholic. Here’s Why:
Chocolate (cacao) contains Phenylethylamine (PEA), which is a chemical found in the brain of happy people.
When you fall in love, then your PEA level will shoot up. Ditto for just having a happy feeling and lust for life. So in other words, eating chocolate can makes you blissful.
It is very important for you to enjoy only healthy chocolate, not Hershey stuff. Always look at the ingredients, if you do not know what an ingredient is, don’t eat it or google the health effects first, especially stay away from any foods starting with the words momo, or irradicated.
Cacao was widely used by the ancient Maya civilization, and they used the cacao beans as currency. Can you imagine today using cacao beans to pay your taxes? Cacao was seen as a ‘food of the Gods.’
How Does Chocolate Benefit Our Health?
Chocolate contains more magnesium than any other food. Magnesium is a very common mineral deficiency in the west. It is the most powerful stress-relieving mineral. Magnesium also relaxes the muscles and builds strong bones and teeth.
In the 1500s, cacao was used as a medicine and acted as a carrier in the administration of other remedies. The medicinal use of cacao lied its ability to treat weak patients with a variety of dis-ease. It was particularly known to improve digestion and stimulate kidney and bowel function.
In addition to the cacao bean, the oil/butter was used in the treatment of skin problems including eczema, psoriasis, and burns. Today, cacao oil is considered a beauty aid in its use as a skin moisturizer and lubricating agent.
With over 300 amazing identifiable chemical compounds, cacao is one of the most pleasurably satisfying foods on the planet. In its raw form, cacao contains anandamide (a euphoric substance), arginine (a natural aphrodisiac), neurotransmitters that stimulate and balance brain activity, tryptophan (an anti-depressant), antioxidants and other beneficial compounds known to have rejuvenating and anti-aging elements.
Big Island Hawaii has an abundant supply of incredible Cacao Trees, especially in Waipio Valley.
My Secret Chocolate Recipe
- 4 tbsp cacao powder
- 4 tbsp coconut manna
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 tbsp agave nectar
- 1 tbsp ashwagandha
- a dash sea salt
Fuse with love and enjoy dunking a banana in the yumminess and let yourself melt away. It’s no mystery that chocolate continues to captivate our taste buds with its rich bittersweet dance on our palette.
Have a powerful day, dear readers, and remember if you’re looking to buy or sell on Big Island Hawaii, I’m your girl!
ONE LIFE!
