My Favorite Places to Eat in Waikoloa Village

If you know me, you know both that I love to cook and that I really love to eat out.

We have some great restaurants on the Big Island and sometimes that makes choosing where to go for dinner a tough choice.  For me – since the island is BIG – my first narrowing-it-down factor is where I am.

I just finished helping someone sell this house in Waikoloa Village…

3D Tour – Home in Waikoloa Village

I just completed the final walkthrough with the buyers and their agent. I use a 3D camera to map out the space when I take on a listing…that helps buyers see the home before they decide if they want to make an appointment to take a “real look.”

It worked — we only had to disturb the owner a few times before we got an offer and so now it looks like dinner is going to be from one of the fine restaurants in Waikoloa Village…

My choices are:

Los Tres Mex for a burrito plate or the mahi-mahi fish taco.

And wow — do they have a choice of hot sauces…

And if I am not in the mood for Mexican Food — right next door is…

Racha Thai Waikoloa perhaps I will get the Drunken Noodles and Pineapple Fried Rice…

We really do have many choices — I simply turned around and there was…

Pueo’s Osteria for fresh made Italian pasta and pizza

I know they are many people’s favorite restaurant and I imagine if I try it a few more times, it could be mine too.

Then just a few steps away — I have a more casual choice at…

Island Lava Java — Pizza, salad or maybe the fresh catch of the day.

I have been here many times for breakfast before golfing at Waikoloa Village Golf

But I have not had their dinner yet. The pizza’s look tempting…

And I have to give a nod to the fresh and fit alternative… right next door is

Subway sandwich — a dependable sandwich every time — I think I have done my fair share of keeping this company in business… I think I may have broken a “eat the same thing every day for lunch record” when I worked in Waimea as the Information System Director at the North Hawaii Community Hospital.

So, I think I will pass on Subway today.

Not too far away — about a 10-15 minute walk or 3-4 minute drive gets me over to the golf course and the Waikoloa Restaurant and Bar — where I could get a Burger and Fries, a Philly Cheesesteak or maybe the French Dip.

They have specials too…

Pretty tempting food specials…

So who was the winner tonight?

Racha Thai! Their food is Organic, GMO free, and Gluten Free.

Here is a small selection from the current menu:

They are cash only and only have outdoor seating — so if it is really hot or windy — then Pueo’s or the Waikoloa Village Restaurant are my next choices for indoor dining.

Next time you are in the Village — and you are craving Thai food — Racha Thai does not disappoint.
