Privacy and exclusivity are the trademarks from this rare, 10-unit direct beachfront condominium residence located in West Maui on Lahaina’s Baby Beach. Within the gated 1.24-acre boutique resort of Puunoa Beach Estates, expect a very low key, secluded atmosphere with polished tropical grounds, and inclusive luxury amenities situated within steps of the sand and water’s edge.

More of a distinguished beachside residence than a condominium complex—plainly, boldly, and factually put: there is nothing comparable to Puunoa Beach Estates in all of West Maui real estate. Nothing.

There are types of rare?

Type 1: Does it actually exist? – I know it sounds strange but on an island surrounded by pristine water with world-class beaches in high profile areas like LahainaKaanapali, and Kapalua, a number of direct beachfront properties where the sand is within “feet” from the lanai so rare.

Off hand, other than a handful of residential homes in West Maui and very few units at Puamana, I’m nearly certain no others exist. Not Kapalua Ironwoods, not the Montage Residences Kapalua, not the Kaanapali Alii, and not Honua Kai—all of which dominate the $3M+ luxury condo market.

And to distinguish the term beach… beachfront is different than oceanfront in that an actual long flat stretch of beach that leads into the water is required (not an ocean’s edge, sea wall, or rocky coast). Where you can walk on it, run on it, sit on it, spend the day on it (whether high or low tide). Sand meets water.

2) Type 2: If it exists, is it available to me? – Here’s the tricky part… if it does exist, and while money can buy nearly everything, history says good luck getting your hands on a Puunoa Beach Estates property.

According to MLS records, only three units have traded hands since the original 10 units sold from the developer in 2000. And of those three, I can directly source two of those Buyers as existing PBE owners. It’s easy to say that good information doesn’t leave the neighborhood—you gotta know somebody.

Unit #203

While the ocean and beach bliss that sits just 25 feet from the lanai dominates the landscape, Unit #203 is a spacious 2,103 sq.ft., 2nd floor, corner unit featuring an oceanfront master suite, oceanview loft bedroom, an open & split floor plan with high vaulted ceilings, a multitude of custom KOA cabinetry & accents, interior perimeter lighting, wet bar, stainless steel appliances, laundry room, large oceanfront lanai plus a 312 sq.ft. garage.

You’ll also find an open floor plan, spacious bedrooms, interior cove lighting, granite and steel kitchen, wet bar, laundry room and garage. I mentioned rare. In all of West Maui, only 2 other Maui condos for sale offer enclosed unit garages, and in this case, it’s an additional 280 sq.ft. On an island where space is limited and cost is a premium… where barren land in Kahului cost $60/ft and oceanfront is at $2000+/sq.ft., the utility of a garage is exceptional. Sold furnished as shown, excluding selected artwork.

Vacation Rental

While PBE sits on it own quiet seclusion at the end of a cul de sac on Baby Beach, leave the car in the garage and bike, walk, roll or paddle to your town destination (it’s close!). Find dining, shopping, arts, entertainment, harbor, history, water sports, and more. We lived in Hawaii (Awakea Rd, Kailua Oahu) for over 10 years and had to move back to the mainland for family reasons. We just retired and our dream is (and has been) to return to either Molokai or Lanai and purchase a small condo. One or max. two bedrooms would be fine.

Please let us know availability and costs (including typical HOA fees) in Lanai.
