A Food Lover’s Feast at the Big Island Farmers’ Market

If you’re a foodie like me well then, I highly recommend you experience in my opinion the best pad Thai on the planet. Saturday morning from 9am to 1pm at the Pukalani stables, Parker Ranch (67-139 Pukilani Rd. Waimea). An enthusiastic lady from Thailand, Niki, brings the authentic taste of Thai food to Big Island Hawaii.

You will see me there almost every Saturday, as I am for sure addicted. I don’t know what Nikki’s secret is; there is the perfect balance of flavor and authenticity that I’ve never tasted before. She offers an array of pad Thai, four different types of Thai curry dishes, summer rolls, and green papaya salad. It’s a delicious feast. Everyone I turn on to Nikky’s Thai food becomes addicted, just like me.

I enjoy washing my Thai food down with her neighbor, “Liquid Life.” They offer fresh, healthy local pressed juices made with love. They also have a storefront cafe in Waimea next to the KTA, where they offer their liquid life elixirs and light, healthy snacks.

Here are three of my favorite juices:

  • Red Roots – beets, carrots, celery, and pineapple
  • Orange Oasis – carrots, orange, pineapple, parsley, and cucumber
  • Purple Passion – passionflower, hibiscus, rose, jasmine, lemongrass, and honey, yummy!

I enjoy the beautiful live music and bumping into friends while I indulge in my senses. There’s nothing better than shopping for locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables and supporting our local community.

There are home-made baked goods as well as artists who sell jewelry, stained glass, and soap infused with fragrances only found here in Hawaii. Be sure to explore the Paniolo Museum while at the market. The photos there depict how the Waimea cowboys, Paniolo, lived and worked in this area.

“Just for today, I will not worry. Just for today, I will not be angry. Just for today, I will give thanks for my many blessings. Just for today, I will do my work honestly. Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.” – The Reiki Principles

Looking forward to hearing from you and making your Hawaii dream home a reality.
