Arriving on Kauai for a vacation in 1981, Rick immediately knew he'd found his home. That vacation was extended from 10 to 30 days and he even bought a piece of land in Kilauea.
At the time he owned 2 stores in Southern California, selling goods he'd imported during his extensive travels. After arriving on Kauai he knew immediately that this was where he wanted to spend the rest of his days, and who can blame him?
Rick continued vacationing on Kauai for a minimum of a month a year and in 1987 he decided to make the move to living full time on Kauai. He built a home on his Kilauea lot and has remained in Kilauea ever since.
Having been in sales his whole life real estate seemed like a natural transition. Rick got his Real Estate Salespersons license in 1988 and his Brokers license in 1989. Early on in his career Rick was affiliated with Princeville Realty which gave him extensive knowledge of Princeville and its history. He was then at Coldwell Banker for 13 years, part of which he served as the Broker-in-Charge. In 2004 he opened his own office which he operated for five years before deciding to take a short break to travel and explore the U.S.A.
Rick is a big believer in continuing education and obtained the GRI (Graduate Realtors Institute), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) and ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) designations. He has also served in various capacities with the Kauai Board of Realtors.
Rick is now a full time Broker/agent with Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers, happily doing what he does best. Rick loves sharing his knowledge of Kauai's various areas and amenities with those contemplating buying on Kauai. He's always readily available to his clients and hopes to share life on Kauai with others who think the Kauai lifestyle would be their dream come true too.
