I'm just a small town girl, livin' in an island world! Born and raised in Iowa, I was bit by the travel bug at an early age. In high school, I traveled to Europe for the first time and studied in a small village in the south of Russia, which broadened my horizons. In 2001 while attending the University of Northern Iowa (UNI), I came across the opportunity to serve as a camp counselor for the Morale, Wellness, and Recreation division of the U.S.Military at Pearl Harbor. It was love at first sight the moment I stepped off the plane on Oahu. I can still remember the smell of Plumeria in the air, the cool ocean breezes, and the giant grin on my face that stayed the entire three months I lived on the island. I spent all my free time snorkeling, cliff diving, boogie boarding, hiking, kayaking, and skydiving. After a magical summer, I returned to Iowa to finish out my degree in Russian and German studies, graduating in 2004. I went on to study Business Marketing at The University of South Carolina until 2007 when I moved to Alaska to work as a Wine Specialist. Alaska was incredible, but a little too chilly for me. After being offered a position on Maui in 2010, I said Aloha to Alaska and returned to the islands. I've lived in four very diverse states, spent a year & a half in Russia, traveled to all seven continents, visited over 60 countries, and I can truly say there is no place on earth where I’d rather live than right here on the incredible island of Maui.
Being committed to lifelong learning is very important to me. When I started my real estate career, I took every class I could fit into my schedule, got involved with as many organizations as I could, and made networking both locally and globally a big priority. Living and working in a world-wide travel destination means not only knowing all there is to know about your neighborhood, but keeping in touch with global trends and economic situations. During my second year in real estate, I joined The International Real Estate Federation, FIABCI. Soon after, I was elected to be Secretary General of the Young Member's Committee which lead to serving as Secretary General for the World Council of Brokers. Through my positions in FIABCI, I've been able to travel to Ukraine, France, Andorra, the UAE, Russia, Greece, and was honored to speak at a UN luncheon in New York about the Hawaiian market. Through these travels, I've been able to create meaningful professional relationships with real estate professionals from bankers in Kazakhstan to Malaysian Developers, to Colombian architects. With these connections, I can confidently assist clients most anywhere in the world with their real estate needs.
In addition to the positions I've held internationally, I serve on the FIABCI-USA Membership Committee, the FIABCI-USA Nominations Committee, have served as Upcountry Regional Director for the Realtor's Association of Maui, am part of the Hawaii International Real Estate Council, and serve as Chair for the Maui County Salary Commission. Bettering our community through volunteer service is very important to me.
When not helping clients, friends, and family with their real estate needs, I enjoy exploring Maui’s many incredible hiking trails, volunteering, long walks on the beach, swimming, golfing, enjoying sunsets, road tripping through the Balkans, riding horses across Mongolia to visit reindeer herders, diving in the Red Sea, kayaking in Antarctica... you know, normal stuff...
