Jamie grew up on the west coast, and studied Geology at University of the Pacific.
Business called after graduation in 1980 and he moved to Denver, Colorado. He married
Bari Brown in February 1981 and they spent their first Christmas together at the
Sheraton Black Rock on Ka’anapali Beach, and fell in love with Maui.
In Denver, Jamie was fortunate to meet and work with visionary financiers. He worked
on the acquisition, management, and eventual sale of their projects. The business model
was to identify opportunities, add value, and sell at a gain. In 1989, he formed a private
equity company to finance and manage projects throughout the western United States.
The company acquired Gulf Coast energy installations, advised on tax credit acquisition
in New Mexico, and financed downtown loft conversions in Denver and multi-family
projects throughout Colorado.
In Maui, he has built a portfolio of rental assets in Ka’anapali and west Maui. As an agent
with Hawai'i Life, Jamie brings a breadth of business and transactional experience to
your purchase or sale. His experience in evaluating opportunities and negotiating
transactions will provide you a seasoned professional to work with.
Jamie’s family is here on Maui. Both he and his wife, as well as their two grown children
enjoy the ocean most days. The boys surf, and Jamie and Bari enjoy long distance
swimming. He has participated in the Lana’i to Maui Channel swim on three different
occasions. Jamie and his wife participated in the Sophie Swim this year. Please let him
know how he can help with your transaction.
