Growing up on the North Shore of Kauai has enriched my life and given me a unique perspective and extensive knowledge of real estate on Kauai. In 1968, my parents left the bustling city of San Francisco and bought a vacant lot in the middle of the jungle in Limahuli Valley in Haena. This was a time when Ching Young Village was just a small grocery store and gas pump in Hanalei.
In 1977, my mom, Roberta Haas, opened the first real estate office on the North Shore of Kauai, next to Ching Young Store. I spent my childhood going barefoot to Hanalei Elementary School and roaming the beaches and hiking trails with friends and family. For middle school and high school, I attended Hawaii Preparatory Academy, a notable boarding school on the Big Island.
After high school, I moved to the East Coast for 11 years, obtained a liberal arts degree at Lynn University in 1994 and worked in radio and television while teaching Bikram Yoga.
In 2000, the North Shore called me home and I married my elementary school friend, Ben Welborn. Ben and I began our real estate sales careers together in 2001 and became Brokers in 2005. While I was Broker-in-Charge of Hanalei North Shore Properties from 2005 to 2009, I managed 156 transactions for $158 million in sales.
When my brother-in-law, Winston Welborn, created Hawaii Life with Matt Beall, we recognized the marketing power and exposure Hawaii Life would bring to our listings and were thrilled about the new level of service and value we could provide our clients.
Whether you're buying or selling I look forward to sharing my knowledge of Kauai's North Shore with you and helping you realize your real estate goals.
