I was born in Honolulu and grew up in California and the great Pacific Northwest. My husband of 38 years is a general contractor. We have bought land and built homes in Volcano and Hilo. Prior to my career in real estate I worked as an accounts payable manager for many years at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, UH Manoa Department of European Languages and Kapiolani Community College (doubled as a U.S. passport agent). Many of my student hires gained valuable knowledge and learned great work ethic under my guidance. Over the years many of them have become a part of my family.
My reason for wanting to become a real estate agent was not for prestige but to help assist people - locals and investors alike - buy or sell property in a non-stressful way - with Aloha! My pride and joys are my children and grandchildren and I am very active in my church. My father was a Stanford University grad scientist/inventor and my mother is still an active singer/soloist in the Oahu community. My diverse background reminds me of our diverse Big Island - from the glorious snow on Mauna Kea, beautiful rain forests, fantastic Hamakua waterfalls to our awesome black sand beaches - our BIg Island has it all!
I wholeheartedly believe that community service makes the world go around! I currently serve as a board member of the Hilo Downtown Improvement Association which was instrumental in saving our hometown Christmas Parade from extinction and I'm also a committee member for the Hawaii Island Realtors membership committee. My husband and I helped build a Habitat for Humanity home on Hawaiian homes land in Hilo (Keaukaha) on Saturdays a few years ago (took about a . year to completion). Other favorite heartwarming endeavors of mine have included: former Girl Scout leader, steward for the Hawaii Government Employees Association, American Cancer Society, American Heart and Lupus fundraisers.
Hobbies are a fun part of our life. I have enjoyed canoe paddling, softball, surfing, ukulele, piano, singing in a choir, hula dancing, swimming, tennis and photography. Trustworthyness, great negotiator, goes the extra mile for my clients and believes there is good in everyone is my motto. I strive for excellence.
