An Old Money Estate in Sprecklesville, North Shore Maui, Offered for $14 Million

The Sprecklesville neighborhood on the North Shore of Maui is bohemian chic… You are essentially looking at a whole way of life. This kama’aina estate (click here to view listing) is old money Hawaii; it would be like getting invited to blend into an ultra exclusive neighborhood like Sagaponack in the Hamptons.

Tee time at the Maui Country Club

Sprecklesville, just outside of the funky town of Paia, is an oceanfront community known for its breezy trade-winds. “Sprecks” is centered around four sandy beaches and the Maui Country Club. The low-key club is a fun hangout spot with golf, a pool, and tennis courts… The Clubhouse Restaurant has been progressively getting better over the past few years and is home to community events like taco night and outdoor concerts.

Sprecklesville is home to celebrities who wouldn’t be happy if I wrote their names, plus Maui royalty like local surfers and descendants from prominant missionary families. Spreks has a local vibe without the traffic hassle you get in other local neighborhoods like Haiku or Upcountry Maui. In fact, neighbors drive their golf carts around the neighborhood to the beach or to the club.

Kite sailing at sunset…

316 Paani Place has front yard lined with blue cut stones with a stairway to the ocean and bordered on the West side by the sandy Sugar Cove Beach …Out front are some of the best wind and wave conditions in the world…  SUP, windsurf, kite or foil in your front yard!

Sprecks local Kai Lenny and friends kite foiling directly out front of Paani Place…

No need to think twice to rig your equipment or load up the truck — just launch right out front. One of the greatest pleasures in life is getting in the water in front of your home.

The official honeymoon suite is brightly decorated in a modern beach vibe.

You will love this compound for so many reasons. The main home is craftsman style with details like bricks that were carved out of lava rock hundreds of years ago. There are three other cottages on the property that’s about an acre with hideouts for art studios, office areas and honeymooner’s getaways. The interiors have all been upgraded over the past few years with top-of-the-line everything.

Another great activity is the little beach break next door…kids love to boogie board for hours right off the point with the sandy bottom.

Paani Place has this huge yard with amazing fruit and flower trees that take decades to mature. A giant Monkeypod tree provides shade.

You can feel the decades of good living here. Days spent in the ocean surfing the North swells or golfing at the club,  evenings in the hammock, raising a glass to the sunset. With the various cottages, your friends and family members can come stay and celebrate life’s milestones together.

This estate is known to locals as “The Voss Property.” The story goes Old Man Voss worked for the Sugar Cane Mill and loved the beach and this beautiful point. The blue cut stone out front was apparently where the Sugar Cane railroad ran. When we were kids, I vividly remember dodging the rusted out sugar-cane-train tracks in the shore break at Sprecks.

This home is listed by the Maui Real Estate team but I would be honored to help you as the buyer’s agent. I feel particularly qualified as my family owns a compound just down the coast and I know all the neighbors and have spent years diligently testing out the wind and waves out front!
