REALTOR SALESPERSON

Have you heard the stories of people packing up everything and moving to Hawaii? Yes, I am one of those people. My family decided to move and within six months we had sold everything we owned in North Carolina and arrived on the Big Island in June 2014.

In our first 60 days Hurricane Iselle hit the island and we were without power for over a week. Power was restored and the lava flow from Puʻu ʻŌʻō vent from Kīlauea Volcano changed direction and headed toward our beloved Pahoa town. Through it all, the community came together to care for each other creating a strong sense of belonging and connection for me. What an amazing greeting from the Big Island!

I have discovered I enjoy lots of white pineapple, wading in a warm tide pool, the sound of the coqui frogs, and nights on the lanai. I also have learned about catchment tanks, solar power, the value of a 4-wheel drive and the importance of multiple pairs of slippahs. Real estate has allowed me to share what I love about the affordable paradise of the east side of Hawaii Island.

Aloha,
Jeanna

What my clients are saying...

In making this seemingly abrupt move to Hawaii from the Northeast, I was initially in touch with three different realtors. What I immediately noticed about Jeanna was that she listened in earnest, was incredibly responsive, took us seriously, and remembered what I told her about our particular situation.

During our first phone call, she normalized my fantasy of wanting to move to the Big Island by sharing her own story of moving from the east coast. She remembered that we were travelling to the Big Island in about a month, and followed up with me a week prior to make a tentative plan. Leading up to our visit, she gently guided us to search for homes in appropriate areas for our needs, taking into consideration the climate, privacy, insurance, and even traffic conditions.

Once we arrived, many of the homes we wanted to see had been claimed, so we hoped to schedule as many that we could that matched our criteria. Jeanna was efficient and organized and we were able to see 13 places in two days. Being pretty clueless, we were fortunate that Jeanna generously shared her expertise and knowledge - from quality of construction and needed repairs to what plants to watch out for in the yard. In fact, we passed on several houses due to such issues. Along the way, we learned from Jeanna of so many of the small idiosyncrasies that are a part of life on the Big Island - about catchments, termites, ants, mail boxes, gates, lanais, and permits.

With the rising interest rates, there was an urgency to make a decision, but Jeanna reassured us that there was still time to make changes. She even did a video tour of a house that came on the market after we put in an offer and flew back to the mainland. (The house was in a great location, but had termites, and was very dark.) Ultimately, we stuck with our original offer and her patience throughout the process to arrive at a confident decision was very much appreciated.

Jeanna maintained a clear professional balance, sharing information that was useful for us in a friendly manner and making us feel welcome and cared for. Her aftercare has also been above and beyond what we would expect from a realtor. She shared so many contacts for maintaining a house on the island and even offered to check in on the house while we were still transitioning (which she did), all while taking care of so many other clients. I feel more secure in my move knowing that Jeanna is here. We were so lucky that she showed up as we dove into making one of the most drastic, anxiety-inducing, but hopeful decision of our lives.

Just like the TV show we looked at 6 homes on our first day out. It was the only day we needed because she nailed it on day one!! She knew what I could spend as well as the type of home and we looked at some both a little higher and lower. She knew my wants and dialed it in quickly! She was also able to suggest a remarkable title company. Everything she did and followed up on exceeded not only my but anyone's expectations. The recommended home inspector was just as detailed and informative as she was. I found some homes listed on other websites that looked perfect and were in my price range. When I asked her about them she did an investigation while on the phone. She uncovered that those homes did not have permits and were not approved by the county. She also explained that if I did purchase one of those homes that I could get the permits by going thru the process and quite possibly end up spending more than if I purchased one that did have clear permits. Thank God I had her helping me!!!! I have purchased and sold 3 homes in my lifetime with this being the 4th. I have never before had this type of personable service before. I highly recommend having her as a realtor because I'm sure no one else could have done a better job than her. By the way the attention she gave every step of the way was the reason we closed in just 21 days. Honest, dependable and over the top service makes her the best choice if you are buying or selling a home!!!!
