Creator's Description: Kohala Ranch was created in the spirit of an original Ahupua'a - From the ocean to the sea. Well, not exactly from the ocean, but mauka from the lower highway to the upper highway, Kohala Ranch runs from the roughly 400 foot elevation to over 3,000 foot in elevation.
Consisting of three distinct neighborhoods, The Heathers, The Meadows and The Summit, Kohala Ranch offers an elevation and temperature for everyone. The Heathers is closest to the ocean (and thus typically the most expensive) ranging from roughly 400 - 800 foot elevation with the warmest year-round temperatures and least amount of rain. The Heathers is located in the middle of the Ranch, around the 1,200 - 2,000 foot elevation which offers cooling breezes and a touch more rain than the Heathers. The Summit ranges from 2,000 - 3,000+ foot elevation and in general tends to mirror the temperature and rainfall of Waimea town (meaning, no outdoor pools and definitely a fireplace!)
All three neighborhoods offer spectacular ocean views and an Agricultural Tax dedication (meaning lower taxes than most comparable neighborhoods) due to the live cattle roaming the land and keeping the weeds to a minimum.
