Steven has been a resident of Maui for 38 years. Prior to real estate, he owned Nickens Interiors, a retail interior store, and was a licensed contractor on Maui for 16 years. Deciding to move on from contracting, he has been an active Maui Realtor for 18 years. Steven specialized as an upcountry agent for the first thirteen years and became one of the top three agents in the largest independent firm on Maui. In the last five years, he has worked with top Wailea firms. In addition to residential real estate, he has been active on sales teams for Wailea Beach Villas, Ho’olei Wailea, Papali Wailea, and Wailea Golf Villas.
With Steve’s local knowledge and strong Internet experience, it is a natural blend for him to be working with Hawaii Life Real Estate Broker’s. Steven’s approach has been to have an aggressive approach to Internet marketing. Steven has also worked on land development, having built five homes for himself with the help of his lovely wife.
Steven has had the privilege to marry a beautiful Maui girl, and, together, they have four grown kids. Micah is 35 years old, a pro surfer, manager of Da Kine international pro surf team, father and husband to a beautiful family. Nate is 33 years old, computer programmer on Maui, husband, father, and winner of Honolua Bay contest this last winter. Meili is 25 years old, works with kids, rides her horse, and manages horses out by Jaws surf break. Lastly, Rachel, works at Dukes restaurant in Huntington Beach and also has a degree in interior design.
On a more personal side of Steven’s life, he has been an avid surfer since 11 years of age, competed in surf contest on Maui for 10 years. He also enjoys windsurfing, stand-up paddling, gardening, and playing his guitar. He also loves traveling the world with his wife. Steven has also volunteered with youth groups at church working with kids, homeless shelters, and Habitat for Humanity’s. Steven lives by the quote: Work hard and play hard.
