Ocean Front Living in Keauhou Kona

Earlier this week I had the luxury of holding an open house at one of Kanaloa at Kona Resort’s oceanfront condominiums, unit #2201 (MLS# 228816). Locals and visitors alike came through, sharing a common feeling of both “ahhh” and “awe” as they heard waves crash on the rocks, felt the cool island breeze, and watched whales swim through Keauhou Bay in the distance. Kailua-Kona, Hanapa’a!

Posted by Hawaii Life on February 24th, 2010 | Tags: , ,

Hanapa’a! An achievement phrase when one’s got a fish on the line. Kailua-Kona, A prized fishing destination!

Boat at Honokohau Harbor

Hawaii is one of the worlds top deep sea fishing locations! It’s the geography of the Big Island that makes Kona the sport fishing capital of the Pacific ocean. The mountain masses of Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, Kohala, Hualalai and Kilauea protect the Kona coast from the winds, resulting in perfect sea conditions! With Hualalai’s steep slope into the ocean, deep sea sport fishing is within a short distance from the shoreline. Just three miles straight out of the harbor, it’s more than 6,000 feet deep! More »

The President Makes a Move

Posted by Hawaii Life on February 24th, 2010 | Tags: , , , ,

The Hawaii Association of Realtors’ President, Tracy Stice, has joined Hawaii Life Real Estate Services as the Broker-In-Charge of Hawaii Life’s new Maui branch office, located in the former corporate headquarters of Maui Land & Pineapple in Kahului.

Tracy Stice, R Hawaii Association of Realtors President 2010 and Broker-In-Charge of Hawaii Life Real Estate Services on Maui

Hawaii Life’s commitment to education and technology appealed to Mr. Stice. In his recent interview as HAR President, he told the Hawaii Realtor Journal:

“The market is permanently changed. Sitting in offices and waiting for people to walk through the door is obsolete. You need more internet contacts and you have to constantly educate yourself to acquire new skills. Those who don’t adapt to new technologies won’t make it.”

Mr. Stice has been a licensed Realtor on Maui for more than 30 years, and his reputation as a professional and community volunteer is well known throughout Hawaii. He has served as the President of the Realtors Association of Maui, and has chaired the Hawaii Association of Realtors Political Action Committee and the Legislative Committee. In 2004, he was named Realtor Broker of the Year by the Realtors Association of Maui. More »

Limahuli Valley on Kauai's North Shore

Limahuli Valley on Kauai's North Shore

Roberta Haas is the original name in real estate on Kauai’s north shore. “Specializing in Rare Tropical Hideaways on the North Shore of Kauai” wasn’t just a slogan at her company (Hanalei North Shore Properties). For Roberta, specializing in rare tropical hideaways is a way of life…  a way of life that she’s shared with hundreds of families, local businesses, and celebrities for over three decades on Kauai.

Roberta and her husband Gordon adopted Kauai into their lives in 1969, when they acquired land in the remote jungle of Limahuli Valley on the far end Kauai’s North Shore. In 1972, after selling their successful career-counseling business in San Francisco, they began construction of their dream home. Today, at that same home in Haena, they enjoy the pristine natural environment that originally called them to Kauai.

In 1977, Roberta became the second Realtor on Kauai’s north shore. Her one-room office in Hanalei’s modest downtown later gave way to Hanalei North Shore Properties, which Roberta founded with her partner Mimsy Bouret. As the Principal Broker of Hanalei North Shore Properties, Roberta pioneered real estate on Kauai’s north shore for the next 33 years, growing her company to become one of the top-selling real estate brokerages in Kauai’s history.

In 2001, Roberta’s daughter Courtney Haas Welborn joined family business and soon became Broker-In-Charge. With their intimate knowledge of the north shore, Courtney and Roberta are now a mother-daughter team selling the finest properties on Kauai.

In August of 2009, Roberta’s knack for unique business models led her to blend tradition with technology, and she merged her company with Hawaii Life Real Estate Services in 2009. As a result, Hawaii Life is now 3rd on Kauai in listing volume out of 86 offices… and is a leader in real estate sales island-wide. Roberta and Courtney are Hawaii Life’s top listing agents.

hl_bizcard_roberta-2Hawaii Life is honored to have Roberta Haas, R, on our team. Pacific Business News recognized her as one of Hawaii’s Top Female Business Owners.  Unique Homes magazine calls her “One of Hawaii’s Megabrokers”. To her friends, colleagues, and clients… she’s just Roberta, and she specializes in rare, tropical hideaways on Kauai’s north shore.

Roberta can be reached at 808-652-9777.
