Do You Really Need a Real Estate Agent?

Automation is everywhere, including real estate. It seems that there is an app for almost everything in the world you would want or think you might need, including buying or selling a house. The question is: do you really want to buy or sell a house without an agent? I believe the answer is no.

eight-teen-questions

You can find a house on the internet, for sure. Certain apps can open the front door and supply a key, and virtual 3D tours are everywhere. This, however, does not replace the one on one that comes from working with an area expert. A good agent has knowledge and expertise that an app can’t supply. This is certainly one of the most expensive buying or selling situations you will ever encounter, and yes, automation is good, but only up to a certain point.

The buying and selling of homes can be stressful. A real estate agent can help guide you through the process. Many times, buying or selling real estate comes down to a personal relationship that the agent might have. We have the ability to look at similar contracts and let you know which one is, in theory, better, safer, and more likely to get the property sold.

We can talk to other agents and get a real sense of what’s going on with a listing. For example, are there other offers on the table or coming in to be presented? Is the client motivated and how can we make a deal happen? Sometimes the smallest of details is the one that gets the job done. These are things that automation simply can’t get accomplished. It boils down, in a nutshell, to relationships. This includes the advice and relationship you have with the agent and that the agent has with the other parties.

Do you really want to have one of the biggest decisions in your life left to a swipe left or swipe right system that reads algorithm, or the personal touch of a real estate professional? I certainly believe that automation helps, and I love my technology, but there are just certain things that require a person at some point. Buying or selling a house should be left to a trusted professional, someone who is knowledgeable, and the area expert that can guide you through the challenges that present themselves in the real estate process.
