Rare Combination of Oceanfront & Large Acreage – Own a Piece of Hawaii in North Kohala

Living in North Kohala for the majority of my life, I sometimes find it difficult to put into words what living here means to me. The “country” or rural feel of North Kohala is undeniable, as is the friendly hometown feel.

green sloping pastures

Gently sloping green pastures leading to the shoreline and creating privacy

For me, it is unusual to walk down the street and not know most of the people I see. That being said, I won’t deny the fact that I do enjoy going home, closing the door, and turning off the phone for some peace and solitude. Having a garden, a dog, a cat, maybe some cows…all these things are possible in North Kohala – and easy. With an annual rainfall average of 50 inches per year, we tend to joke that plants grow here with little or no help from us.

73 Untouched Acres Full of Possibilities

The possibilities of what to do with a large land acreage in North Kohala are countless. If you like the untouched look and feel of gently sloping pastures, the land listing at 029 Ainakea Drive may be exactly what you are looking for. With over 73 acres, there is plenty of room to do some ranching, some farming, and build your own private home. Or maybe you just want to own a piece of Hawaii that actually has some secluded, untouched, beautiful shoreline.

Literally located less than a mile from the main highway, this property allows you the best of both worlds. You can shop, dine or do errands in Kapaau or Hawi and still be less than ten minutes from your new home. The view of the North Kohala Mountains from this property are stunning and as you drive down towards the ocean from the top of the hill, you can see Maui and sometimes spot whales off the coast.

Can you picture yourself sitting at a table overlooking this shoreline? Or maybe enjoying the tide as it comes up over this “jewel” pool?

With pastures, shorelines, cliffs, wooded areas and rolling hills, this property has so much of what makes North Kohala special and what makes me happy to call it home.

I sit here dreaming of the Kohala lifestyle. A truly special place not filled with people.
My thoughts go back to hours spent ” talk story” under the Banyun tree.
