Gracious Living at the Residences of Park Lane in the Heart of Honolulu

Graciousness. That word comes up over and over in my conversations regarding Park Lane, the project being developed by the MacNaughton Group & Kobayashi Group on the ocean side of Ala Moana Center. Whether it’s the expansive lawns between the residences, the broad beach and ocean views from the generous lanais, or the warm aloha extended by the project’s sale team, I’m not sure, but the designers have managed to create an oasis fronting Ala Moana Mall that feels more like a resort on the outer islands than a condo in the heart of Honolulu.

Relaxed Hawaii Living at its Best

Take a look at the photo above of a lanai off one of the residences and then remember you can walk out the front door and within a minute or two be in Bloomingdales, or better yet, getting lunch at my favorite destination at Ala Moana, Shirokaya Japan Village walk for some ramen. The choice has always been a gracious home on one of the outer islands with only a few restaurant choices nearby or a dense vertical condo here in Honolulu. You no longer need to make that choice. You can have both.

The project’s name comes from the entry to the residences, a long outdoor corridor weaving through dense plantings, Park Lane. Right from the start this is different than the usual lobby with banks of elevators. In fact, the lobby is open air and two stories with ocean views across the Grand Lawn. Three dog parks are spaced along this walk, along with two entrances to the Ala Moana Mall. Again, graciousness more akin to a residence than the usual urban high rise.

They have also included all the amenities one would expect in a resort-like atmosphere such as a pool, gyms, casual and more formal dinning areas with catering kitchens, wine bars, massage rooms, large men’s and women’s locker rooms with indoor and outdoor lounges. A beach concierge will even set you up for a day at Ala Moana Beach with all the gear.

Available Units

Sales have been brisk with 87% of the residences now sold. Prices start at $2.1 million currently with just under 40 residences still available. There is still a wide configuration of available units, 2, 3, and 4 or more bedrooms, direct ocean views, attached garages, penthouses, Waikiki views; the list goes on and on. No other residential tower in Honolulu has such a wide variety of unit styles. It really feels more like you are picking out a home with its own personality rather than just another condo.

The developers team estimate that the first phase will be completed in March 2017, the second by Mid Summer 2017, and the final phase Late Fall of 2017. So if you have been thinking of getting a place on an outer island but would like to have the restaurant, shopping, and cultural choices that a hip big city offers as well as easy access to medical care, then you should consider the residences at Park Lane Ala Moana.
