South Maui Vacation Rental Condo at Luana Kai

Hey boys and girls. I got a great new listing to tell you about! 940 S. Kihei Road B106.

Luana Kai B106 exterior aloha

Guess where? It’s in North Kihei, is one of the most sought after vacation rental buildings, close to a white sand beach, has public tennis courts readily available, amazing pool-spa-sauna, and even has a tiki bar! But wait…the best feature is that I’d be your neighbor. So where is this?

If you guessed Luana Kai, you are correct. Well, I don’t actually live in the complex, but I do own a unit here…so I consider myself the expert. Hahaha! So, let me tell you about the complex then I’ll tell you about the unit.

Luana Kai

I mentioned earlier that it was in North Kihei. It’s on a stretch of beach that is buffered by a large, county owned parcel of land (see above picture). Nothing will be built there. The beach is at the other end of the grassy area.

Luana Kai B106 tennis court

There are public tennis courts very close by as well as a putting green and shuffleboard. Yeah, shuffleboard. You got a problem? Ha! What sold me was the pool area.

Just saying that the pool deck and pool have recently been renovated and already paid for. I particularly like the “tiki bar.” I know it’s not one, but it reminds me of what one looks like. So there is a heated pool, spa, sauna, showers, and a large space that can be reserved for get togethers. All the while with an amazing view of the ocean and West Maui mountains.

So let me tell you a little about the unit for sale. My buying decision was made upon hearing that the available unit was on the ground floor. In this complex, that is gold (there are no elevators). As with my unit, this unit is steps away from the pool area.

If you want more private time, just use your large patio and soak in the views. This building is popular in the winter because the sun sets further south and is still sunny. During the summer, the sun sets farther to the north so the unit is not a scorcher in the afternoon. As you will see, everything in the unit is directed to outside living.

I suppose I should tell you the particulars. It’s a 1 bed, 1 bath unit of approximately 640 square feet. The listing price is $359,000. That is in line with recent sales and current actives. The most comparable is a bank owned on the 2nd floor, listed at $309,000, needing to be renovated.

The kitchen is open and set up with bar stools for countertop eating, or use the dining room table. The unit is sold fully furnished and turn key. There is an owner’s lockout closet to store your personal belongings.

I mentioned earlier that the unit is vacation rentable. The nightly rate is approximately $129 during the low season and approximately $149 during high season. Our high season starts around Thanksgiving and ends when the whales leave…usually March or April.

The kitchen is clean, functional, and fully equipped for a dinner party. There is a washer/dryer in the unit for your convenience. The bathroom is clean and spacious. Ceramic tile floors keep the unit cooler and easy to maintain. There is no AC, however, the cross breeze is pretty good. My guests have never complained. My unit is 4 doors away.

The bedroom is spacious and quite bright. Pictured here is a King sized bed.
