As of May 11, 2016, there are four condominium properties on Maui certified for FHA, two of which are on the West side – Opukea and Napilihau Village. This can be a great option for first-time homebuyers, as you only need 3.5% down! Check with your lender on loan specifics for FHA.
Opukea
Opukea has many community amenities, including: recreation center, pool, gym, and barbeque area. In addition, it’s very centrally located; you can walk or ride a beach cruiser to everything in Lahaina. Right next door is the Lahaina Gateway Center and across the street is the Cannery Mall. There is currently one Opukea condo available.

Napilihau Village
Napilihau Village is a great option on the West side of Maui for first-time homeowners. It’s a hot property with two units going into escrow in the last month. There is currently one Napilihau condo on the market.

The condo complex is located in Napili next to the Napili market center and fire station. You can walk to the park or walk to the beach from here. Some condos here even have a peek-a-boo ocean view. There is a real neighborhood feeling at this condo complex. Often times you’ll see families out riding bikes in the evening.
