Stylish New Construction in Kahala at 708 Ulili Street

New homes are rare in Kahala, stylish ones are even rarer. 708 Ulili Street (MLS# 201522749) is just such a house.

Most of the housing stock in Kahala is dated and poorly remodeled. When a new home comes on the market it’s an event but often design still misses the mark. The builder and designers behind 708 Ulili Street have scored. It is what most buyers are looking for in terms of space, style, and function. I hesitate to even write this blog as it is likely to sell long before you read it. Enough about my surprise, let’s talk about the house.

The first level surrounds and opens to the pool area. This is a fun house to hang in. The oversize kitchen adjoins the pool and the great room. It is easy to imagine a group of friends and family moving from pool to kitchen to dining room. So many homes in this area are more traditional and closed up, separating all of these spaces. The clean sharp lines of the exterior are echoed in the interior blending function and style the way a modern home should.

The lower level’s bedroom wing includes two suites with a shared bath that open to the pool and a more private and larger suite with its own bath that could easily serve as a second, ground floor master if needed. Lots of functionality here. I particularly like the use of skylights to illuminate the interior hall.

The second level mixes a master suite retreat with a large roof deck for entertaining. Sunset and dusk would be especially lovely up on the deck. Like the pool and great room and kitchen downstairs, the roof deck is spacious and could easily handle a large party.

The master is roomy as well with a lovely bath area and commodious closets. There is a separate area, which could function as an office or baby’s room. The suite has a private covered lanai that connects to the larger roof deck. For those that choose to make the downstairs larger suite the master suite, this room could easily serve as an entertainment room as it’s large enough for a pool table. Again, smart design choices and flexibility in function in a stylish way. If you have been waiting for that “Dwell Magazine” type home here in Kahala, you better move fast.
