The Stice Team, Hawaii Life, & Realtor Wishing Well Give Back to the Children & Community of Molokai

This past Saturday morning, myself, my business partner and cousin Tim Stice along with our respective significant others, Megan Stice and Michaela Hilis, met up with about 10 other Maui Realtors to help load a 20ft. container of school supplies for the children of Molokai.

A Big Mahalo

There are several different schools on Molokai that are in dire need of help, and we are pleased to be able to help them. Maui County needs to extend a big mahalo to Sarah Sorenson of Whale’s Tail Realty who is as selfless as they come and the mastermind behind this operation.

In August, 2007, Sarah created, developed, and launched the “REALTORS® Wishing Well…for Maui Schools,” established as a non-profit venture where REALTORS® and affiliate members of RAM assist Maui’s 32 public schools on three islands (Maui, Molokai, and Lanai) to receive goods, time, and monetary donations to make education a better experience for the students and teachers. Sarah has put together the school’s wish list.

Another big mahalo needs to be extended to Wyndham Resorts for donating all of the furniture, and to many Maui Realtors island wide for their generous monetary donations throughout the years to make this possible.

A Day of Serving the Community

Kula view

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect and gorgeous in lower Kula this day for everyone to come together and serve our community. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky and the view from Sarah’s property (above) was absolutely stunning looking down towards Kaho’olawe, South Maui, and the West Maui mountains. We could even see the large waves rolling in on the north shore, the Mana and beauty of Maui helped to power us all.

Chairs and view

We loaded what seemed like an endless amount of smaller seating chairs (above), larger lounge chairs, a water cooler, and an AC unit along with many brand new box fans, which will be greatly appreciated as we have had the hottest summer I ever remember growing up on Maui and has been validated by many record temperatures.

The Stices

Tim Stice and his fiancé Michaela took charge by serving as the lead stacking organizers and Tetris players to ensure that we could fit as many items in the 20ft. container as possible. Fellow Hawaii Lifers Caleb Palmer, Ilsa Mitchell Jencks, and Kristina Shugars were there bright and early with us – we all had a great time working together.

By the end of the day, Tim had one foot on the edge of the container and one on a small ladder, which has certainly seen better days, to squeeze in a few more things. He received applause and some good humored laughter on a number of occasions for managing to get a few more things in there.

Giving Back Continues

A few weeks ago, the Hawaii Life ‘ohana was the sponsor for the dinner at the homeless shelter in Wailuku where we provided the food, prepared it, and served it to a very grateful group of about 60 Mauians. We had a great turn out from our crew with Harry Dev Devery, Caleb Palmer, Rhonda Hay (BIC), George Walter, Jeff Simon (BIC), yours truly, and Lawrence Carnicelli and a couple our agents’ kids were a big help too!

All of us had a great time working together, sharing laughter and smiles, and serving our community. I am proud to be part of the Realtors Association of Maui where we have countless individuals who deeply care for and serve a myriad of causes throughout the islands. I look forward to our next event!

Aloha from Maui,
