Popular Retail Store, Target, Comes to Kahului, Maui

Mauians have been waiting a long time for Target to arrive on Maui. I remember a photo on the cover of the Maui News announcing Target’s arrival in Lahaina back in 2009. It’s finally here! The parking lots have been abundant with shoppers.

The Maui store is approximately 140,000 square feet, and will offer guests the everyday essentials and exclusive brands they have come to expect from Target. In addition, the store will include a selection of fresh produce, fresh packaged meat, and pre-packaged baked goods, as well as a Starbucks and a Target Pharmacy, to further enhance guests’ shopping experience. The Maui location will employ approximately 200 team members.

More Openings

Sometime this summer, TJ Maxx will be opening its first store on Maui in the Maui Mall. The store’s offerings include women’s clothes and handbags, and household items. There are three T.J. Maxx stores on Oahu, at the Ward Village Shops, Pearlridge Center, and Pearl City Gateway; this will be the first store on the neighbor islands.

Juvenal and Co. Salon is relocating to 100 Wailea Ike Drive in Wailea. This is the same building as Snorkel Bob’s and the new Wailea Blue Pro Shop. Juvenal was originally located next to the spa at the Fairmont Kea Lani.

Joe’s Bar & Grill, owned by Bev Gannon, is reopening in the Spring of 2015 as Joe’s Nuevo Latino. They will feature an exciting menu inspired by the cuisine of Mexico, Central and South America. The interior is being completely re-imagined and patrons will experience a vibrant atmosphere.

Closings

We are sad to see Hilo Hatties, Valley Isle Gymnastics, St. Johns Boutique, and Cary & Eddies Hideaway Restaurant close their doors.
