Hawai`i Island Women’s Leadership Summit: Advancing Women through Knowledge, Strength & Community

Moved by a passion to support women on Hawaiʻi Island, a group of women leaders, including myself, have been meeting for the last year to discuss how to support and encourage women on our island. Our conversations have led us to create the Hawaiʻi Island Women’s Leadership Forum, out of which we hope will grow a series of activities and events that will nurture women on all levels of leadership and contribute to building a lasting legacy for generations to come.

Save the Date! Join Us for Our Inaugural Event

We are excited to announce that our inaugural event will be the Hawai‘i Island Women’s Leadership Summit: Advancing Women through Knowledge, Strength, and Community. This event will take place at the Hilton Waikoloa Village on April 24, 2015. The purpose of the Summit is to advance and celebrate the value of women in our society, cultivate relationships for networking, and move the conversation forward to develop leaders locally.

The Summit will feature a dynamic keynote speaker, panel discussion, 15-20 engaging and interactive workshop sessions, and a networking pau hana. Themes that will be present throughout all components of the Summit include business, community, diversity, finance, leadership, relationships, self, and innovation and technology. Additionally, an array of local vendors will be showcased at the Summit Expo.

Please join me, the University of Hawai`i at Hilo’s College of Continuing Education and Community Service (CCECS), and the Hawai`i County Committee on the Status of Women (CSW) in launching this inaugural event of the Hawaiʻi Island Women’s Leadership Forum. I am extremely honored to be on the Founding Planning Committee and all this means for women on our island!
