Lana’i’s Hulopoe Bay – A Special Beach to Explore

Sometimes in our busy lives, even in the Hawaiian Islands, something special reminds you why you live and love Hawaii. After ten + years living on Lana’i, looking out over Hulopoe Bay each day is always a new experience.

Yesterday the “Pink Paddlers,” about a dozen canoes, all clad in pink, were coming in to Hulopoe Bay to camp and enjoy Lana’i’s special beach cove park. As I went down to congratulate them on a job well done for such a special cause, “Julie” from San Diego told me that in all the years she has paddled in the islands she had never been to Lana’i, couldn’t believe I lived here, and made a decision on the spot to buy a home here.

I told her about my new listing at 255 Nau Pl. and that rentals here are currently hard to find with all the work being commissioned by Larry Ellison over the next several years. “I’ll be back…soon, we are going to do this!” she said as she jumped in her canoe early Sunday morning on her 3 hour journey back to Maui.
