Kaua’i Vacation Rental (TVR) Opportunities on the North Shore

Kaua’i has become a major destination in Hawaii for island visitors. A decade ago most island hoppers did not schedule a stop on Kaua’i. That is no longer the case. Kaua’i now has a booming vacation rental business. In fact, it has become so popular that the county started diligent enforcement of the vacation rental laws a few years ago, diminishing the inventory of active vacation rentals on the north shore.

There are areas referred to as Visitor Designated Area (VDA) where any property owner can start a Vacation Rental. All other areas have experienced a decrease in rentals, with no new ones allowed to start up. On the north shore, Princeville is the only VDA – and business is good!

Just a 10 minute drive to Hanalei Bay or Anini Beach, Princeville is conveniently located near, swimming, surfing, dining, shopping, golf, and more! Where, in the past, Princeville got the over-flow and/or visitors wanting to avoid the steep rents for beachfront properties, Princeville is now the busiest vacation rental area on the north shore and possibly on the island.

Although sales prices are increasing steadily, it is still a great time to purchase a property while the prices are affordable. Most Princeville rentals are experiencing impressive occupancy numbers. Spacious homes that will accommodate larger groups are experiencing steady business from that special niche in the marketplace, while the smaller ocean view condos are always in demand.

Prime Princeville Condo with Ocean Views

I have an amazing listing at Alii Kai I #3104 that could become a popular vacation rental with its prime ocean bluff location. It is a 2 bed, 2 bath condo with ocean views from every room, and presents a great rental opportunity in Princeville.
