2013 PGA Champions Tour to Kick Off at Hualalai Resort

The PGA Champions Tour is about to kick off here on the Big Island. The Mitsubishi Electric Championship is the first tournament of the PGA Champions tour and will be running from Friday, January 18th through Sunday, January 20th at the Hualalai Resort. Defending champion, Dan Forsman will be challenged by names like Tom Kite, Joe Daley, and Fred Couples. This year’s purse is $1.8M. Approximate start time for competition is 7:30am each day.

Where Can You Purchase Tickets for the 2013 PGA Champions Tour?

Tickets can be purchased in two ways. Spectators can either advance purchase tickets, purchase tickets at the gate, or at Kona Golf in Kailua Kona the week of the tournament. A one day pass purchased in advance is $15 and a tournament pass purchased in advance is $25. Tickets purchased the week of the tournament are just $5 more.

2013 Pro-Am Competition at Hualalai – Details & Information

For fans that would like to get in on the action sooner, you can catch the Pro-Am Competition on Wednesday January 16th and Thursday January 17th. There is a two tee start on both days for the Pro-Am competition at 7:30am and 11:30am.

  • When: Wednesday January 16th and Thursday January 17th
  • Where: Hualalai Resort, Big Island, Hawaii
  • Time: 7:30am and 11:30am (both days)

If you can’t be on the Big Island for the event, the competition will be aired on the Golf Channel. Check your local listings for airing times.
