Japanese Billionaire Kawamoto Lists Kahala Homes For Sale

Japanese billionaire Genshiro Kawamoto has decided to place several of his Kahala homes on the market.

View Oahu luxury homes here.

4607 Kahala Ave (MLS# 1006464) is listed for $17.8 Million

Prices range from $1.88 Million to $17.8 Million. If you’re looking to enter Oahu’s most publicized luxury market, now may be your chance. Most of his homes haven’t been well maintained since his purchase, so these may be “value plays” reminiscent of the oceanfront homes in Kahala that were selling for $20 Million back during the Japanese bubble of 1990, some 20 years ago…

Here’s the latest inventory to hit the market owned by Kawamoto:

  • 4286 Kahala Ave. (MLS# 1006468) is listed for $1.88 Million. Kawamoto paid $1.6 Million in 2004.
  • 4766 Kahala Ave. (MLS# 1006242) is listed for $2.35 Million. Kawamoto paid $2.41 Million in 2008.
  • 4744 Kahala Ave. (MLS# 1006299) is listed for $2.68 Million. Kawamoto paid $2.7 Million in 2005.
  • 4332 Kahala Ave. (MLS# 1006469) is listed for $2.88 Million. Kawamoto paid $3.4 Million in 2005.
  • 4758 Kahala Ave. (MLS# 1006381) is listed for $2.88 Million. Kawamoto paid $2.34 Million in 2004.
  • 4806 Kahala Ave. (MLS# 1006385) is listed for $3.2 Million. Kawamoto paid $2.77 Million in 2004.
  • 4767D Kahala Ave. (MLS# 1006462) is listed for $10.5 Million. Kawamoto paid $9 Million in 2006.

Interesting Blog and after logging on to all the prospective listings I started feeling like I was viewing shots of a recent hurricane.

I hope that Mr. Kawamoto will see this and consider “off-loading” some of these outrageously priced homes to those of use way less fortunate. People like my husband, who’s worked his butt off for 35 years to only be brought down by an unknown illness and then trying to get help to only being treated as if he’s never even existed!!!! People that have made their contributions w/o ever collecting any state or gov. welfare and now when he needs some of that contribution can’t get any back! Soon we too may be homeless and to see all of those homes just rotting away seems so so unfair. Why not consider letting some of us “rent-to-own”? We aren’t looking for any free hand outs, just a place to live.

I would like to be one the families that would be able to rent to own one of Mr. Kawamoto’s home. My story just a little similar to yours, but he still have his job for 30 years. He has been taking care my family for over 20 years. There’s five of us and we have to move soon because our landlord passed away.

I echo KC Wilson’s comments. Noting how unfair it is to be refused assistance after providing it all your life with your energies and earnings to those in need. I too have worked all my life; am a native Hawaiian, worked to help others become successful, gratefully still employed – paycheck to paycheck, and unable to own property or a home. I would like to rent-to-own or be given such an opportunity to enjoy the likes of a palatial home and share it for a common good. For instance, I would like to open the first hospice home on the East side of Oahu, namely in Kahala, on Kahala Avenue. A place of quiet rest, surrounded by natural beauty and mindful palliative care. A place to breathe our last breaths in aloha and in peace. May I have an opportunity Mr. Kawamoto? Can you help me realize this endeavor? Our growing older generation deserves such places of care in our community to spend their end of days in comfort and dignity. Even joy. Thank you..Mr.Buck for passing this on. I am contact-and-professional ready to support our aging communities.

Mr.Kawamoto if u by some chance read these postings then i would appreciate if u would take the time to respond and take a look in to my unfortunate situation.I feel that it may give u great satisfaction once u learn why i am trying to contact u.With your help i could provide the ultimate B-Day gift for my disabled son.. I appreciate the blessings u have gave many people and would be very grateful if u could extend your helping hand once more.

Kentucky,

I understand your hardships. I understand how frustrating life can be and how “unfair” it may be. But the person that you should look to for your wonderful son is the Lord, not another man. God said he will supply all our needs. We just must be faithful to His word, the Bible. Mr. Kawamoto is just a man, a vessel, that can be used to bless others. We do not know Mr. Kawamoto and can not judge anything he does. Only the Lord can do that. Pray for the Lords guidance. The Lord uses people to bless you. He doesn’t say go ask a rich man, He says yo ask Him. Being as wealthy as Mr. Kawamoto is can be such a great blessing for those who follow after the Lord and His purpose for their lives. It can also be a great curse to those who miss use their wealth. They are never fully happy and always want more, because they are missing the one thing that makes it all tick.. Jesus Christ.
I do not know Mr. Kawamoto. I have only heard things. I do not form an opinion of this man based on these things. Some are good and some are bad. However, not knowing him I can not say he is good or bad. To me he has been given a wonderful blessing of knowledge and passion to do what he loves and do it with all he has, which is what the Lord tells us to do. All the other things are just hear say. Like 30 day notices to move.. I have no read a contract, it would have to say in it that he could do that at any time. So that isn’t a crime. I live near Kahala Drive and yes it hurts my heart to see some of these properties not in proper use, but I know one thing. My God is a faithful God and those homes will be restored one day. Patients and God’s grace can move mountains.

JRM all due respect, please stop with the Lord, jesus talk, my parents gave away tens of millions to the church, first assembly of god, kenneth copeland, jimmy swaggart, pat robertson, kenneth hagin, and the list goes on, now that they are broke they are getting treated like KC wilsons husband, an outcast

my dad went to ask for help when he had nothing left and guess how much they offered to help him with ???? $500

so there you go, you are all frauds at least Genshiro is real and he has helped out in the best way he knew how,

JRM do you even own a house, have a job, a life ? or are you another parasitic leach / pastor like so many of these other parasitic fake jesus freaks that spunge off of everyone else ???? and steal from their parents and kids college funds,

one thing is right though, one day you will be stoned, lit on fire and you will have First Assembly of God, kenneth copeland, jimmy swaggart, pat robertson, kenneth hagin to thank for your suffering while they are all in a resort somewhere in spain getting high on pot and eating bon bons,

I swear if I saw you in a room talking like this I would come right up and knock you out, you should be careful on what you say in public, there are millions of me out there that are now speaking out, you really do not know what you are talking about until you are broke and destitute from what your parents did,

or and I forgot, 99% of those that are homeless on the beach in hawaii are christians that gave it all away and believe 100 fold is coming back and if you talked to them 5 years ago, they are still there today believing that the day of miracles where a man or woman with a check will show up and get them out of their deep hole is any day now, it is kind of like being on crack 24 /7 don’t ya think ?

these are the rules of The Lord, God and Jesus,

You have to have MONEY to live life, how you get it and how long you can hold on to it is entirely up to you,

🙂

There are a lot of unfortunate people in Hawaii but, the most unfortunate are our children and elderly. Maybe Mr. Kawamoto can partner with those who assist children and the elderly, and turn a couple homes into affordable day care for children and affordable assisted living for the elderly. I will soon retire but I do have a pension and some savings but, a lot of other elderly people are out of work and barely making it. I feel so very fortunate and want to spread the Aloha to my peers and the children of Hawaii. If needed, maybe I could assist with these facilities after I retire.
